Uploading your website files is an essential step in going live. With cPanel's File Manager, you can easily upload files directly from your browser without the need for FTP software.
- Log in to your cPanel account.

- On the main dashboard, click on File Manager.

- Navigate to the
public_htmlfolder. This is the root directory where your website files should reside.
- If you're managing a subdomain or add-on domain, navigate to its specific folder under
public_html.

- Click on the Upload button located in the top menu.
- Click Select File and choose a file from your computer.
- To upload multiple files, repeat the selection process before completing the upload.
- Once files are selected, uploading starts automatically. When complete, click the link to return to File Manager.
- You'll see your uploaded files inside the
public_htmlfolder or the destination directory you chose.
Upload Confirmation
If your upload is successful, a message will appear similar to:Upload Status – filename.extension: upload succeeded
Troubleshooting Tips
- File not showing? Make sure you uploaded it to the correct folder (usually
public_html). - Overwriting issues? If the file already exists, check the box to Overwrite existing files during upload. Note: This will replace any existing file, even if it's newer.
