How to Create an Email Account in cPanel

Creating a professional email address for your domain (e.g., [email protected]) takes less than 2 minutes in cPanel.

Step-by-Step: Creating an Email Account

  1. Log in to cPanel (see How to Access cPanel — WH-01).
  2. In the Email section, click Email Accounts.
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the Username field, type the part before the @ sign (e.g., info, sales, hello).
  5. Make sure the correct domain is selected in the Domain dropdown.
  6. Set a strong password. You can click Generate to let cPanel create one for you.
  7. Set the Storage Space (Mailbox Quota). For most accounts, 1000 MB (1 GB) is a good starting point. Set to Unlimited if your plan allows it.
  8. Click Create to save the account.

How to Access Your New Email

  • Webmail (browser): Go to yourdomain.com/webmail or mail.yourdomain.com
  • On your phone: See How to Configure Email on Android (EM-03) or iPhone (EM-02)
  • In Outlook: See How to Configure Email in Outlook (EM-04)

IMAP / SMTP Settings for Email Apps

If you need to manually configure an email app, use these settings:

  • Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 993 | SSL: Yes
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 465 | SSL: Yes
  • Username: your full email address (e.g., [email protected])
  • Password: the password you set when creating the account

Note: Replace 'yourdomain.com' with your actual domain name in all settings above.

Tip: Create separate email accounts for different purposes: info@ for general enquiries, support@ for customer service, accounts@ for billing, etc.
