How to Add a Domain or Subdomain in cPanel

You can host multiple websites under one cPanel hosting account by adding addon domains. You can also create subdomains for different sections of your site (e.g., blog.yourdomain.com).

Adding an Addon Domain

An addon domain is a completely separate website hosted on your account. Your Developer plan allows up to 10 domains (1 primary + 9 addons).

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Click Domains in the Domains section.
  3. Click Create A New Domain.
  4. Enter the domain name (e.g., secondwebsite.com).
  5. cPanel will automatically suggest a document root directory (the folder where files for this domain will be stored). You can change this if needed.
  6. Click Submit.

Important: The addon domain must already be registered and pointing to Hordanso nameservers (ns1.hordanso.net, ns2.hordanso.net). See How to Point a Domain to Hordanso Nameservers — DNS-03.

Creating a Subdomain

A subdomain creates a separate section of your website (e.g., shop.yourdomain.com, blog.yourdomain.com).

  1. In cPanel, go to Domains.
  2. Click Create A New Domain.
  3. Enter the subdomain (e.g., shop.yourdomain.com — include the full address with your main domain).
  4. Set the document root directory where the subdomain files will be stored.
  5. Click Submit.

Tip: Subdomains point to the same server by default, so no extra DNS configuration is needed if your domain is already pointing to Hordanso.
