Backups are your safety net. Hordanso performs daily automated backups on all shared hosting accounts, but you should also download your own backups regularly — especially before making major changes.
How to Create a Manual Backup
Option A: Backup Wizard (Easiest)
- Log in to cPanel.
- In the Files section, click Backup Wizard.
- Click Back Up.
- Choose Full Backup or select what you want (Home Directory, MySQL Databases, Email Forwarders, Email Filters).
- For Full Backup: select Download to your Desktop as the destination, enter your email address, and click Generate Backup.
- When ready, a download link will appear (and be emailed to you). Click it to save the backup to your computer.
Option B: Backup Section (for partial backups)
- In cPanel, click Backup (not Backup Wizard).
- Under Partial Backups, click Download a Home Directory Backup (saves your files) or Download a MySQL Database Backup (saves your databases).
How to Restore a Backup
Restoring via cPanel (Partial Backups)
- In cPanel, click Backup.
- Under Restore, click Choose File and select your backup file (.gz or .sql).
- Click Upload to restore.
Restoring via JetBackup (Developer Plan)
Developer plan customers have access to JetBackup for automated daily backups with one-click restoration.
- In cPanel, click JetBackup.
- Browse the available backup dates.
- Click Restore next to the backup point you want.
Important: Restoring a backup will overwrite your current files and databases. If you are unsure, ask Hordanso support to help. Always download a fresh backup before restoring.
Hordanso's Automated Daily Backups
All Hordanso shared hosting accounts include daily automated backups. If you need us to restore your site to a previous point (up to 7 days), contact support and we will restore it for you.
