How to Unblock Your IP Address

If you suddenly cannot access cPanel, webmail, or your website and see a 'Connection refused' or '403 Forbidden' error, your IP address may have been automatically blocked by the server's firewall.

Why Does My IP Get Blocked?

  • Too many failed login attempts to cPanel, webmail, or FTP in a short period
  • A security scanner or plugin triggered an intrusion detection rule
  • Your shared office or ISP's IP was flagged by another user on the same network
  • ModSecurity blocked a specific request that matched a security rule

How to Find Your Current IP Address

To provide your IP to Hordanso support, go to whatismyip.com or simply search 'what is my IP' on Google. Copy the IP address shown.

How to Request an IP Unblock

  1. Get your current IP address (see above).
  2. Contact Hordanso support via one of these methods:
    • WhatsApp: +(234) 707 542 1523 — message 'IP UNBLOCK REQUEST: my IP is [your IP]'
    • Support Ticket: clients.hordanso.net/submitticket.php — subject: 'IP Block - [your domain]'
  3. Our team will unblock your IP within minutes during business hours.

Temporary Workaround

While waiting for the unblock:

  • Use a VPN to temporarily access your site from a different IP
  • Use your mobile data connection (which has a different IP from your home/office Wi-Fi) to log in
  • Use the client portal one-click cPanel login (clients.hordanso.net) which bypasses IP-based blocks for cPanel

Tip: To prevent future IP blocks, use your email and password manager to store correct credentials and avoid repeated failed login attempts.

  • ModSecurity, firewall, unblock IP, blocked, cPanel login, IP block
