Here is how to add your Hordanso business email to Microsoft Outlook (2016, 2019, 2021, or Microsoft 365).
Settings You Will Need
- Email address: e.g., [email protected]
- Password: your email account password
- Incoming server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 993 | Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 465 | Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full email address
Step-by-Step: Adding the Account in Outlook
- Open Outlook.
- Click File in the top left menu.
- Click Add Account.
- Enter your email address (e.g., [email protected]).
- Click the Advanced options link to expand it.
- Tick Let me set up my account manually.
- Click Connect.
- Choose IMAP.
- Fill in the incoming server settings:
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
- Click Next.
- Fill in the outgoing server settings:

- Port: 465
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
- Click Next.

- Outlook will verify the connection. If successful, click Done.
Troubleshooting Outlook Connection Issues
- 'Cannot connect to server' — make sure the server name is correct and you have internet access. Try using your server IP instead of mail.yourdomain.com if DNS has not propagated yet
- 'Password rejected' — double-check your password. Try logging in to webmail first to confirm the password is correct
- Port blocked — some ISPs block port 465. Try port 587 with STARTTLS encryption as an alternative
- SSL certificate warning — this may appear if using a self-signed certificate. Contact Hordanso to install a proper Let's Encrypt certificate (free)
Note: If your company uses Microsoft 365 for email (Outlook.com addresses), these steps do not apply. Use the Microsoft 365 admin panel to configure your custom domain email there instead.
